ABOUT ROGER

A Career in the Arts and Education

Roger trained at the Johann Strauss School of Music, Malta, and has been involved in theatre since the age of 9. Awards won include ‘Best Performer’ in Canzoni dal Mondo, Italy and ‘Best Artist’ in The New Asian Singer International Contest in Beijing, China, together with awards won while part of the Pop Classical Crossover group ‘Trilogy’ in Malta Eurovision. As a singer he has given performances in Italy, Russia, China, Macedonia, Lithuania and Bulgaria.


Theatrical credits include; most recently Gomez Addams in The Addams Family – A New Musical (Arthaus - MCC) the title role in The Phantom of the Opera in Malta’s Premier performance (Grapevine Music - MFCC) and Pilate in Jesus Christ Superstar directed by Hugh Wooldridge (Astra Theatre); Adam in Seven Brides for Seven Brothers (Manoel Theatre); Javert in Les Miserables in Concert (MCC); Pilate in Jesus Christ Superstar (Sir Temi Zammit); Callahan in Legally Blonde (Manoel Theatre); Georg Von Trapp in The Sound of Music (MCC); Horton in Seussical the Musical (Masquerade - Manoel Theatre); Chauvelin in The Scarlet Pimpernel (Oratorio Gozo); Neville Craven in The Secret Garden (Manoel Theatre); Lazar Wolf in Fiddler on the Roof (MCC); Benvolio in Romeo and Juliet (MADC - San Anton); Riley in The Erpingham Camp (MADC); Theseus in A Midsummer Night’s Dream (MADC - San Anton); Alessandro and De Valette in 1565 The Musical (Masquerade - MCC), as well as other Maltese Musicals in Maltese language.


Concert credits include Simply Webber, Simply Queen, A Night at the Theatre (Pjazza Teatru Rjal), A Night at the Musicals (Pjazza Teatru Rjal), Notte Italiana (Pjazza Teatru Rjal) Comedy Tonight (Manoel Theatre), Ä ensna in Concert, Ä ensna History Rocks, and Ä ensna (2019), 50 years of Maltese Music, the Closing Ceremony of the Malta EU Presidency with the Canadian classical group The Tenors.


TV credits include Triq Waħda, Il-Klikka, ‘Lietuvos Garbe’ (Honour of Lithuania) as Music Composer for the Lithuanian TV Channel TV3, ‘Lovers on Ice’ performing with Trilogy on La7 and Sky Italia. Vocal Director credits include 13-The Musical, Rock of Ages and various Christmas Pantomimes for the MADC.


Roger is also a Head of Department of Ethics Education with the Ministry for Education, Malta. He is graduated in Psychology and Communications with postgraduates in teaching PSCD, Bioethics and the teaching of Ethics.
